          Handmade in Yellow Springs, Ohio

Donna Hargrove, 69. Retired schoolteacher and quilter from the Ohio craft town of Yellow Springs. She's been quilting since her grandmother taught her in Holmes County — and stitching these Suzani-print cushions for nearly twenty years. She's making one final batch. This is it.

"I never sold a single one. They were always for family, for neighbors, for the church raffle. Now they have to go somewhere — and I'd like them to go to people who'll actually live with them."

          Why This Cushion

Six Things You Won't Find on a Factory Cushion

Every detail below comes out of nearly twenty years of making these cushions the way Donna worked it out — combining the quilting her grandmother taught her with the Suzani and Kantha patterns she found in Istanbul and Jaipur. Nothing here is an accident.

          ◆

          Fill Included — It's a Cushion, Not a Cover

This ships as a complete, ready-to-sit cushion with the fill already inside. Not an empty cover you have to stuff yourself. Open the box, set it on your chair, sit down. That's it.

          ◎

          Hand-Tufted at Nine Points

Donna tufts each cushion by hand at nine points across the face — the deep dimples that give it shape and stop the fill from shifting and bunching the way cheap ones do after a week.

          ✦

          Pom-Pom Trim Stitched by Hand

The pom-pom trim runs around all four edges, stitched on by hand one length at a time. Not glued. Glued trim, Donna says, is the first thing to go — so she doesn't glue anything.

          ☐

Stays Firm — Doesn't Go Flat

The fill is packed dense enough that Donna sits on every cushion before it ships. If it doesn't hold its shape, she restuffs it. She's been sitting on hers for three years — still firm, no sagging.

          ◇

          Machine-Washable on Cool

Built for real life with kids, pets, and dinner tables. When accidents happen, it goes through a cool, gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry, no tumble drying. The colorfast fabric won't bleed onto your floor or sofa.

          ★

          Final Batch — Limited Quantity

Donna isn't making more. The cushions on her shelves are the last batch that will ever come out of her workshop. No reorders, no second runs, no next season.

          — A Note Donna Keeps in Her Shoebox

"Dear Donna — my living room had been the same beige nothing for nine years. I put your teal cushion on the chair by the window and suddenly that whole corner had a reason to exist. My daughter sat in it for an hour the first day. I've ordered a second one for the bench. Thank you for making something that actually feels like someone made it."

A longtime customer — one of dozens of handwritten notes Donna has kept in a shoebox on her studio shelf.

Five Things You Get With Every Cushion

          ✓
Handmade in Yellow Springs, Ohio Each cushion is made by Donna, start to finish, in her studio in the Ohio craft town of Yellow Springs. Tufted, trimmed, and sat-tested by one pair of hands before it ships.
          ✓
A Pattern Forty Years in the Making The quilting came from her grandmother in Holmes County. The Suzani and Kantha patterns came from a trip to Istanbul and Jaipur. It took Donna three years to combine them into what you see today.
          ✓
Fill Included — Ready to Use This is a complete cushion, not a cover. The fill is inside, packed dense, hand-tufted at nine points so it holds its shape under daily sitting. No stuffing, no assembly.
          ✓
Generously Sized — 42 × 42 cm A full 16.5 × 16.5 inches, 2.8 inches thick. Sits on a dining chair, a garden bench, a window seat — or right on the floor for a reading corner. Four colorways: rust orange, deep teal, burgundy, yellow-green.
          ✓
Free Shipping + 90-Day Returns Free shipping on every order. Ready to ship in 2–3 days. If it doesn't feel right when it arrives, send it back within 90 days for a full refund. No questions, no forms.
          ✓

          Donna's 90-Day Return Policy

Put it on your chair, your bench, wherever you actually sit. Give it a month. If it isn't what you imagined — if it doesn't hold its shape, if the color isn't right, if it just doesn't belong — send it back within 90 days for a full refund. No questions, no forms. Just an email to the shop.

          A Note From the Workshop

Donna makes every cushion by hand, one at a time, in her studio in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Because each cushion is made by hand and cut individually from the fabric, slight variations in the pattern, the position of the print, and the placement of the pom-poms are a natural part of how each one comes out. These are not flaws. This is what handmade looks like.

To keep it at its best: machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle when needed. Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry. The fabric is colorfast and won't bleed — treat it gently and it will outlast most of what you own.
